This Flip-Discs artwork visualizes the real-time activity of the Levant — an easterly wind that blows in the western Mediterranean Sea and through the Strait of Gibraltar, and known for impacting the mental state of those who live in its path.
As one walks up to the piece, their image is reflected back. The contrast of their image changes based on the current wind data, representing the impact of the wind upon people.
Note: With each edition, the collector gets to have some input on which tide the piece will represent, as well as how often the piece animates. If constant noise is of concern, it's common for collectors to have the piece move every 15 or 30 minutes and "sleep" at night.
