On Sunday, November 28th, 2021ArtRepublic and SuperRare will launch a highly-anticipated auction with the unique opportunity to collect firsts from some of the world's most important artists. The auction will be accompanied by a private event for leading NFT collectors at the 1 Hotel in South Beach where guests will be able to meet the artists and make bids on the NFT works.

The collector that wins the auction of the NFT will also receive the physical artwork that it was captured from.

The interactive physical artwork, Longyearbyen Warming, visualizes the real-time temperatures in Longyearbyen, Norway—the fastest-warming city on the planet due to Climate Change. The warmer the current temperature is in relation to past averages, the more gold will appear in the piece.

The NFT, Longyearbyen Warming COP26, is a video that was captured of the kinetic artwork on Nov 3, 2021, when world leaders met at COP26, the United Nations Climate Change Conference, where they failed to come to an agreement that would secure global net-zero by mid-century and keep warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius within reach.

The online auction dates from November 28 - December 1, 2021, on SuperRare.

A portion of the evening's proceeds will directly benefit Teen Cancer America.
