Longyearbyen Warming

NFT & Physical Artwork

On Sunday, November 28th, 2021, ArtRepublic and SuperRare will launch a highly-anticipated auction with the unique opportunity to collect firsts from some of the world's most important artists. The auction will be accompanied by a private event for leading NFT collectors at the 1 Hotel in South Beach where guests will be able to meet the artists and make bids on the NFT works.

Visualization
The artwork evolves via a generative visualization of the real-time temperatures in Longyearbyen, Norway—the fastest-warming city in the world due to climate change. The warmer the current temperature is compared to historical averages, the more gold appears in the piece.
