Production Technician

BREAKFAST has been commissioned by many brands over the years to make industry-changing installations, but has recently shifted focus to the development of its own products. All of our projects and products have been produced with no more than 7 full-time employees, as we believe in operating as a small, nimble, and diversely-talented team. 

The Job

TITLE: Production Technician


WORKING HOURS: Full Time, Freelance to Full Time.

We’re hiring for a new team member that will help us assemble, test, ship and install all our art and design pieces such as Flip-Discs and Brixels. The role includes a lot of hands on assembly, as well as basic troubleshooting and debugging of hardware. We’re looking for a person with exceptional eye for detail and organization, if you love keeping track of things in spreadsheets and have a high attention to detail, this might be for you!

There will be a fair amount of domestic and international travel in this role. Every time we do an install, or need to go out for maintenance or repairs, you’ll be part of the team going out. You will need to be comfortable with going on occasional solo trips for routine maintenance tasks and interface directly with facilities managers. It’s important to note that some of these trips can get scheduled with very few days of notice.

This role requires applicant to have a drivers license.

Responsibilities include:

  • Installation assistant for BREAKFAST installations

  • Perform maintenance tasks on BREAKFAST installations

  • Packing and shipping

  • Quality control and testing of production parts

  • Stock keeping and inventory management

  • Hands-on assembly

  • Parts production using CNC/Laser/3D printer and manual shop tools (drill press etc)

  • Occasional supervision of temporary assembly staff

Experience and Skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Highly organizational mindset

  • Experience troubleshooting and diagnostics of products and systems

  • Strong skills using spreadsheet applications

  • Comfort and confidence working with a very small team

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Highly confident with basic hand assembly tools

  • Knowledge of machine shop use and safety

  • Previous experience in manufacturing assembly, maintenance or repair is a plus

  • Experience with basic electronics and soldering is a bonus
